Pongees Joins B/SAMPLY as Part of the A Fabric Affair Community

With historical roots reaching back to the 19th century

B/SAMPLY is proud to welcome Pongees Ltd to its platform as a new member of A Fabric Affair, the curated community within B/COMMUNITY that brings together textile producers known for their exceptional creativity, innovation, and commitment to sustainability.

With a legacy that spans over 90 years, and historical roots reaching back to the 19th century, Pongees has built its reputation as one of the UK’s foremost silk specialists. Known especially for luxurious plain dyed mulberry silks, the company caters to a wide range of clients, from prestigious fashion houses and interior designers to students and independent makers, with minimum orders starting from just 1 metre. As all fabrics are stock supported, delivery is fast.

Now live on B/SAMPLY, Pongees’ digital showroom offers buyers and designers access to its extensive range of silks and silk blends, along with some synthetic alternatives, ideal for fashion, bridal, lingerie, interiors, and costume design.  Its fabrics are also popular choices for printing, pleating, and embroidery, thanks to their high quality and versatility.

Pongees joins A Fabric Affair at a key moment in the seasonal cycle, offering insight into upcoming fabric and color trends for Autumn/Winter 26/27. According to Managing Director Nick Moore, the mood is shifting towards freedom, individuality, and optimism. “Consumers are moving towards a more optimistic future and this translates into a freer and individualistic approach to their wardrobes and interiors, yet still with an eye on sustainability,” he explains.

The autumn/winter 26/27 season

The palette for A/W 26/27, as envisioned by Pongees, blends purity and vibrancy: earthy browns, neutrals, and greys sit alongside bold, expressive accents like yellow, paprika, and red, a balance between grounded natural tones and standout confidence.

Sustainability is a cornerstone of the Pongees ethos. While silk is inherently a natural and biodegradable fibre, the company continues to go further in evaluating its materials and practices. Its portfolio includes handwoven wild silks made from cocoons of silkworms reared on protected bushes in the wild, feeding naturally on native flora. Pongees also offers tulles with reduced or zero formaldehyde content, providing eco-conscious alternatives for dyeing and finishing.

Its partner mills hold OEKO-TEX accreditation and use production from GOTS certified sources, and Pongees is increasingly relying on recycled materials for packaging, swatch cards, shade cards and office products.

We are excited to have Pongees as part of the A Fabric Affair community and to showcase its heritage, craftsmanship, and forward-thinking approach to sustainability on the global stage.
