Monitor for Circular Fashion 2024: Advancing Sustainability in the Fashion Industry

We are thrilled to announce the beginning of the fourth year of the Monitor for Circular Fashion project, a research observatory hosted by SDA Bocconi and directed by Francesca Romana Rinaldi, with the scientific support of SDA Bocconi’s Sustainability Lab.
On February 2nd, the first plenary meeting was convened at the Milan headquarters of SDA Bocconi, inaugurating a year of exploration for the observatory alongside all partner companies. The meeting welcomed esteemed guests, including Mauro Scalia, Director of Sustainable Businesses at EURATEX, who addressed market surveillance and proposals concerning the European textile sector’s clothing for the European Commission’s Ecodesign Regulation on clothing.
Maria Teresa Pisani, Chief of the Trade Facilitation Section at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), provided updates on the Sustainability Pledge of UNECE.
Additionally, Gustavo Gonzalez-Quijano, Secretary General of COTANCE, led an in-depth analysis of leather traceability. The Monitor for Circular Fashion 2024 brings together ingredient brands, finished product brands, vendors, and service providers across the fashion industry’s value chain, all committed to sustainability and circularity.

Through collaborative efforts, in Bsamply and Deda Stealth we aim to support all the community members in addressing the challenges and opportunities of circularity, fostering dialogue, and driving concrete, measurable solutions. The Monitor community is also pleased to welcome two new partners to our initiative: Gruppo Mastrotto, Italy’s foremost tanning group known globally for its expertise in high-quality bovine leather processing, and Eurojersey, the leading Italian producer of technical fabrics renowned for its Sensitive Fabrics brand.
