QR Code Technology brings Traceability to the Tessuti di Sondrio Fabrics

A new system that marries technology with tradition to bring traceability into each of the finished fabrics produced by the company.

Tessuti di Sondrio, a division of the Marzotto Group and leader in the sector, recently introduced a new system that marries technology with tradition to bring traceability into each of the finished fabrics produced by the company.

The Italian company producing fine fabrics in cotton, wool, linen, and hemp since 1985, recently brought QR codes to their products. With the Spring Summer 2024 collection being the first one to reflect these changes and advancements in technology, each fabric part of the collection will contain digitalized and scannable QR codes printed onto each tag. The codes will hold technical information related to the characteristics of the product as well as the machines used in the production and a detailed outline of the steps within the production process.

The initiative reflects the brand’s commitment to society and environmental sustainability: two fundamental and leading values in the company’s mission and vision. Through research and development Tessuti di Sondrio is not only able to experiment with new systems, but with the products themselves and therefore always maintains its high standard of quality and innovation in their work.

Tessuti di Sondrio offers customers two collections a year. It divides its products into categories based on the brand’s needs: Hearth for Earth, Dalsasso, Yarn-Dyed, Ready-to-Dye and Piece Dyed. The products go from classic finishings to reinvented detailing with high performance that are today are among the most loved and recognized by fashion houses around the world. Recently, Tessuti di Sondrio launched an Upcycle collection, offering high-quality fabrics at competitive prices. A strategy part of Tessuti di Sondrio’s sustainable journey which aims to rethink the procurement of materials in a way that leads towards a more circular economy.

The sustainable journey for Tessuti di Sondrio begins in fact right at their doorstep. The company is located within a UNESCO heritage site, home to heroic viticulture and in an excellent agri-food district, representing therefore their moral and social obligation towards the valley in their processes, innovative technology and premium products.
